Let me ask you straight -
How many motivational videos/reels did you watch last month?
Or,
How many blogs/LinkedIn posts did you scroll through, supported or liked that you believed to add some valuable insights to your career or business?
Could you get an approximate number? Even if you don’t, I tell you this is normal.
You are not alone.
LinkedIn or YouTube content creators are doing wonderful jobs these days. They are focusing on a perfectly relatable dilemma that all of us are going through or supposedly facing in the future.
They are tracking it up meticulously while providing you with easy and implementable action plans.
Some of you are doing fantastic
Hey, high five! You’re doing a great job.
But did you track how much you have actually grown in terms of finance, business, career or just regarding your larger life goals?
If you did, and have a countable figure with you, if you can track your progress with significant data, you can stop reading ahead.
But if you don’t or feel that you actually did but the data are not available to you - I will tell you why.
Watching or reading motivational stuff is an addiction - quite similar to your addiction to Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.
Read that again! You read it right.
If you are reading inspirational LinkedIn posts on how workplace culture should be, how HR policies could be consistently refined and made humane or how as a people’s manager it helps to become less bossy and a servant leader in terms of Scrum framework - let me tell you, you were reading this because it is intuitive to your likelihood.
And some of you know already, how any social media persistently shows you what you believe in.
The truth is: if you are stuck on what you already know, addicted to motivational and inspirational contents, it is because they are getting you hooked.
And in this loop - you or me will always remain the miserable one which you used to be!
So what do we do now?
To be candid with you - it is not easy. As an agilist and a scrum master, let me echo - it is simple to understand but harder to implement.
Next time, if a solution provided to you for your financial or career dilemma seems easy for you, always doubt it.
In the next newsletter, I will tell you about your seven days masterclass with you.
That’s right. In these seven days of masterclass, it is not me or someone else, but you will be your trainer.
I will just show you how to start.
Meanwhile, in the comment section, I will love to know if this sounds relatable.
A little brainstorming exercise if you are still reading or want to benefit more from this - have a tangible number with you in percentage on how much you productively grew last month.
You can assume it, but it is better to figure it out by calculating how many client meetings, how many people’s appreciation did you do last month?
Did you attend a professional coaching which is actually relevant to your job and can help you earn more?
